Special Events
Special events range from activities I have coordinated for other artists to special outreaches I have been able to participate in as an artist myself. Regardless, at each event I place an importance on connection between the makers and the audience, as a way to not only engage them short term but educate them on the skill behind the crafts and build a long term connection to the community.
Stickley Museum - Member Day
While being the featured artist for this event, I designed a simple "try your hand" activity for museum members to help me weave a tapestry with their beloved logo. I snagged pictures of all their hands collaborating on this project and then finished the weaving and donated it to the museum to be put on display in their gallery area.

Second Career Makers
This exhibition explores the ways in which makers current/past "day jobs" influence their creative practices. It allows artists to tell their stories about juggling full time jobs outside their creative practices or what steps they took to transition into making full time.

Alphabet of Expectations
This evocative exhibition features hand embroidered vintage children's dresses by Kachina Leigh. This alternative to the ABC primer explores the words that women face throughout their lives and their often degrading nature.

Mediums Revealed - Exhibitions-in-Print Series
This seven-part series delves into the wide range of craft practices taught at Peters Valley School of Craft in Layton, NJ. Emerging and professional artists were invited to submit works for publication in media-specific catalogs, each highlighting the diverse uses of various materials.
